Grant-making began in 2005 and since then, we have awarded more than $45 million to college readiness and degree completion programs throughout Washington state. We have awarded $15 million in grants under our Community Grants Program to selected organizations around the state; committed $12 million to a multiyear College-Ready Math initiative to help low-income students graduate from high school with strong math skills; invested over $11.1 million to fund Achieving the Dream: Community Colleges Count; committed nearly $10 million to a College Readiness Initiative involving AVID and Navigation 101, and committed $1.7 million to theWashBoard.org, a free, web-based scholarship clearinghouse.
Our grantees support college access and success for low-income students in Washington state.
We encourage proposals:
- from communities throughout the state
- that utilize partnerships or shared resources
- with programs grounded in research-based methods
- that have measurable outcomes
